WHAT IS POIEMA?
Poiema Arts, Inc is a Christ-centered educational and performance based training center that puts emphasis on the arts as well as academics. We are a non-profit organization providing programs for high-school and college-age students in the greater Raleigh, NC metropolitan area. Our goal is to foster an environment that promotes authentic, exceptional and practical education in the performing and visual arts. We believe that with a strong, relevant and progressive approach to arts education, a young person who is gifted in the arts will realize a solid pathway to accomplishment.
POIEMA ARTS offers several disciplines in the arts including theater, dance, instrumental and vocal music, visual arts and technical theater production. Included alongside classroom education will be practical opportunities including Broadway-style theater production, dance and music concerts, and art displays.

Studio Poiema
Poiema Arts Conservatory (PAC)
Our arts conservatory will partner with several local and regional colleges to provide academics for both high school and college students who have a gift and calling in the arts. In addition to the academic component of PAC, our staff of professionally trained and qualified instructors will train students in all aspects of theater, dance, technical production, theater direction, and management, as well as music and vocal training. After graduating from high school, most students will have earned a two-year college degree from Liberty University. Each student who is accepted and enrolls in the program will receive one-on-one mentoring in both academics and arts education (a mentor will be assigned to the individual student for the duration of their training.)
PoiemArtistry (PA)
PA is the professional arts company that will perform world-class theatrical and concert-style productions for the local community as well as the nation.

PoiemArtistry Dance Theater: a professionally trained dance company that will perform several dance concerts annually, including “The Nutcracker” ballet. Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” will also be an annual production. Beautiful music, exciting tap, ballroom dance, and realistic sets will all highlight this timeless classic. We will bring in professional actors and choreographers, along with auditioned community talent to present this extravaganza each year. We guarantee that this will be the hit of the holiday season. Currently, the company is working on an exciting concert-style dramatic presentation entitled,, HOW LOVE WINS."

Summer Arts Convention: Each summer, Poiema will host a national dance, theater, and production conference and workshop. Hundreds of dancers and clinicians from all over the nation will converge on the area for one of the nation’s premier “family-friendly” dance gatherings.

Poiema Theater Group: A professional-level theater company that will perform several mainstage productions including Broadway musicals. The vision is to produce four to six mainstage musicals and plays each year. These shows will range from Broadway classics to new, exciting stage presentations.
Studio Poiema (SP)
SP is a community-based dance and theater studio offering classes to the community-at-large from ages 3 to adult. Through SP, we will provide evening classes to those in the community who want beginner through professional training without the rigor of the academic component. These classes will include ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop and more. Acting and musical theater, classical French mime, as well as vocal/music training will also be offered.
Economic Benefit
Through stage productions, conferences, conservatory, community dance/arts studio, and concert series, there is every reason to believe that the Greater Raleigh community will benefit economically from the presence and success of Poiema. This organization has the potential to make north Raleigh and Wake Forest a destination for culture and entertainment.
