
Meet our Staff

Kelly Green (Administrator) was born and raised in Iowa where she received a call to further her education at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. She received her degree in Christian Education. There she met her husband, Michael. They were married in 1985 and moved to Columbus, OH to join the pastoral staff of a local church. Kelly was active in the business administration of the church. Michael and Kelly have four wonderful children – Chelsae, Brandon, Lyndsae, and Isaac. Kelly was active in her children’s education as their homeschool teacher. In 2006, the Greens opened up a successful performing arts studio with Kelly acting as the studio administrator. Kelly enjoys constructing costumes for the many productions. She is "Grandma" to her first grandchild, Carter Hamilton. Michael and Kelly are also very excited about another new addition to the family as their youngest, Isaac, was recently married.
Instructors

Chelsae Green (Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Jazz Instructor) is excited to start this next phase of Poiema Arts, Inc! She has been teaching in Raleigh for 13 years. Chelsae began teaching at Field of Dreams Performing Arts Conservatory in 2006. She graduated from Meredith College with a B.A. in Dance Studies in 2011. Chelsae taught dance at North Raleigh Christian Academy as the Dance Department Director and Theater Department Choreographer from 20011-2018. Chelsae is an ABT® Certified Instructor and has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive, Pre- Primary through Level 7, and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Isaac Green (Assistant Mime Instructor) is the youngest of the Green family, and is happily married to Grace Green. He has been involved in theater and dance most of his life. Isaac has studied mime (9 yrs.), tap (14 yrs.), hiphop (12 yrs.), ballet (2 yrs.), and theater. He has assisted in several musical theater classes, and served as the technical director for PoiemArtistry. Isaac is excited to teach mime at STUDIO POIEMA this year!

Lyndsae Green (Tap, HipHop, Contemporary Instructor) started dancing at the age of thirteen and has trained in a wide variety of styles such as ballet, pointe, contemporary/modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, african, and broadway. She has had the opportunity to work with and train under professionals from New York City including Cheryl Cutlip (former Rockette and founder of Project Dance). Lyndsae has been a dance instructor since 2008 and has taught various styles including: Tap, Hip Hop, and Ballet. She has been a choreographer for PoiemArtistry since 2015 and has helped produce shows such as The Great Day, Similitude of a Dream, and Seussical the Musical.

Michael Green (Mime, Theater Instructor) hails from the land of the Buckeyes – Ohio. He graduated from Central Bible College in 1984 and has studied theater, mime, and dance for nearly 45 years. Prior to directing theater, he and his wife served in pastoral ministry for over 20 years in Columbus, Ohio as well as Raleigh, North Carolina. From 2001 - 2018, Michael served on the staff of North Raleigh Christian Academy as the Director of Fine Arts, directing an award-winning theater program. The NRCA Squire Theater was one of the first private schools in the nation to produce Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera and Disney’s Mary Poppins. Over the past 30 years, Michael has directed over 65 plays and musicals while helping to begin several local dance and theater groups. He is excited about this current phase of God’s journey as he, his family, and the Board of Directors for Poiema Arts, Inc. continue to build both a regional school for the arts, Poiema Arts Conservatory, and a professional performing arts company, PoiemArtistry, that will expand God’s Kingdom to the nations.

Naomi Robertson (Ballet, Jazz Instructor) has been dancing for 18 years and has studied ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical, and tap. Dance is a passion for Naomi. She loves the feeling of freedom it offers. She also loves that God has given us the gift of dance to minister to others and to praise and worship Him. Naomi has assisted classes for two years through high school and substitute taught a handful of classes after graduation. She currently teaches technique classes at her church once a week. In 2018 and 2019, Naomi took the Teacher’s Training School course through Dance Masters of America at the University of Buffalo in New York. She is planning on completing a similar course with the American Ballet Theatre. She is beyond blessed to be teaching with this amazing company and so thankful for this family.

Amy Traphagen (Voice, Audition Instructor) graduated from South Carolina School of the Arts in 2019 with her BFA in Musical Theatre. During her time in college she performed with Mill Town Players, as well as taught and choreographed for Stagecraft Children’s Theater. Amy went to New York for a month where she worked with agents and took part in acting seminars and vocal classes. Upon graduating she took part in the college program at Walt Disney World where she accepted a full time position. She participated in casting and entertainment management courses during her time with Disney. Amy is excited to share her passion for theater and love for the Lord with the students and cast members of Poiema.
